She calls him Timothy. Not Tim. Timothy. I love it.
When Caitlyn contacted me about photographing her wedding at the Langley Golf Centre I was pretty excited. I had taught her, we had AMAZING service project memories from when I taught high school, she is fun…super photogenic and her family is incredible. Now if she was that awesome then her beloved must be amazing. And he is.
We started their engagement session at a science lab…me pretending I knew what things are but really…I was a French/History major at UBC…nothing science touched my mind! But Chemistry and labs are their world and it seemed so fitting to be in the environment they first met in.
In her own words…here is their beginning…so sweet and I couldn’t say it better: “One day near the beginning of the semester I went to the first meeting of the Chemistry club since I was a Chemistry major and thought that might be a good thing to be involved in. There was a quiet, good looking guy named Timothy who was also at this meeting. I was intimidated by him since I thought, wow he’s an upper level Chemistry major he must be so crazy smart (which is true). Over the course of that semester we saw each other at meetings and events and we were also in the same Multivariable Calculus class. After Christmas break he asked me to go on a date with him, and we went for lunch one monday in February. I guess one could say there was Chemistry. That seems to be the joke in our relationship that never gets old.”
Their proposal was so sweet and made me love this Timothy guy…AND I’ll share that with you all with their wedding photos…since their wedding is only 2 weeks away!!!
This engagement session was pure fun…exploring a science lab and then another evening we explored lighthouse park in Vancouver…at sunset. I have to admit, I kind of felt out of my element…they are SO SMART! I didn’t really understand what they were talking about and felt so uncool…all I could do is translate something into mediocre French and photograph it. Oh, and I can brainstorm…I’m truly amazing at that.
Caitlyn, Timothy…thank you for beautiful memories and I am uber excited for your big day!
And everything ends with a GREAT shaky face.
