Steveston Engagement Session // Sarah & Josh

On a beautifully rainy day over Christmas break I got to hang out with these two…and their engagement session in Steveston was such fun! We embraced the BC weather, they were so cute and we even ate mini donuts…yum!! It was such a fabulous day and I am just so happy I got to meet these two. Their 2014 wedding is going to be such a wonderful day of celebration and joy.

Sarah and Josh met in grade 8 and were friends for a long time before starting to date in grade 12. Best friends then…best friends now. Josh thinks she is smart, beautiful and fits perfectly in his arms. Sarah thinks that if Josh were a movie he would be Inglorious Bastards. I told you they were cute…but they are also really funny. I love their likes! They like to watch the X-Files together, they can play the countries alphabet game without even having to think, he loves coffee and muffins from McDonalds, future children might be named Ory or Finn and they are so excited to spend their forever together.

Sarah, Josh…thank you for such a wonderful time. I am so excited to hear of all the wonderful plans to come.

Big hugs,

PS…for some reason Anne Shirley and Gilbert Blythe came to mind when editing their photos…so here is a not-so-often-done quote about love:

β€œFor a moment Anne’s heart fluttered queerly and for the first time her eyes faltered under Gilbert’s gaze and a rosy flush stained the paleness of her face. It was as if a veil that had hung before her inner consciousness had been lifted, giving to her view a revelation of unsuspected feelings and realities. Perhaps, after all, romance did not come into one’s life with pomp and blare, like a gay knight riding down; perhaps it crept to one’s side like an old friend through quiet ways; perhaps it revealed itself in seeming prose, until some sudden shaft of illumination flung athwart its pages betrayed the rhythm and the music, perhaps. . . perhaps. . .love unfolded naturally out of a beautiful friendship, as a golden-hearted rose slipping from its green sheath. ”

What beautiful photos! Damara, the depth of emotion that has been captured in your lens is remarkable and elicits a deeply emotional response in me as I view each photo. I am reminded of another young bride-to-be who, many years ago, looked at her groom with those same incredible eyes. Sarah, your face radiates nothing short of blissful content in the arms of your beloved Josh. May your friendship be the foundation of a growing, changing love that endures through all that lies ahead, and may blessing be poured out in abundance on your marriage.ReplyCancel
